Therapist

Yusuke Miyamoto was born and raised in Japan and graduated from the University of Alabama (USA) in 2003 with a degree in Athletic Training (Sports Medicine). As a Certified Athletic Trainer, he has worked with athletes across a wide range of sports—most extensively in American football and rugby—for more than a decade.

Since 2010, Yusuke has expanded his expertise through training in Oriental Medicine in Japan, integrating these skills into his therapeutic practice. To broaden his approach and provide more comprehensive care, he has pursued diverse clinical experiences, internships, seminars, and workshops. Beyond the treatment of sports injuries, his work has consistently focused on the management of stress-related conditions.

Yusuke was introduced to the Primal Reflex Release Technique (PRRT) in 2007 and achieved Level 5 Master Practitioner status in 2016. He is currently the only practitioner offering Primal Reflex Release Technique (PRRT) in both New Zealand and Australia.

Since settling in New Zealand in 2014, Yusuke has continued to advance and refine his therapeutic methods, bringing a unique and integrative approach to his clients.

++My Approach++

I look at the whole person, not just the site of injury or pain.

Almost everyone carries some degree of physical or emotional tension, whether acute or chronic. From the perspective of our nervous system, protecting vital organs—such as the lungs, heart, and digestive system—has always been a primary function, essential for our survival.

The concept of balance is central here. While it is important to consider what we eat, drink, and do, an equally important question is whether the tension we carry is in a healthy, balanced state. Often, unresolved or unnoticed tension—sometimes present for years—can be the missing piece in understanding persistent health concerns or pain. Even if you are free from obvious pain or dysfunction, underlying tension may gradually contribute to future decline.

Holistic therapy works to restore that balance. By considering the whole picture—physical, emotional, and lifestyle factors—it supports your body’s natural ability to reset and heal. For some patients, this step may be essential before addressing a specific concern directly, helping create a stronger foundation for lasting wellness.
